What is the difference between ADSL, FTTC and FTTH fibre? The main difference is the internet speed.

Outside network coverage in ADSL connectivity only, the nominal line speed is up to 7 Mbps download and 1 Mbps upload with guaranteed minimum bandwidth of 2Mbps download and 200 kbps upload.

FTTC is the connection consisting of fibre optic cables to the cabinet; the connection to the modem is made directly with a copper cable. In FTTC connectivity the nominal speed of the line is up to 200 Mbps in download and up to 20 Mbps in upload with a guaranteed minimum bandwidth of 21 Mbps in download and 2 Mbps in upload.

FTTH fibre is the best performing fibre optic technology at the moment; unlike FTTC technology, the connection to the modem is made directly with a fibre optic cable (not copper). The surfing speed in FTTH fibre connectivity is up to 2.5 Gb/s in download and up to 500 Mb/s in upload with a guaranteed minimum bandwidth of 200 Mb/s in download and 50 Mb/s in upload.

The actual speeds that can be reached will only be determined after the service has been activated and will in any case depend on the distance from the cabinet, the degree of network congestion, the use of Wi-Fi and the number and type of devices connected.

Office Plus, Office Plus Special and Office Maxi offer provides for the supply of the modem on loan for free use. The modem will be delivered and configured by a specialized technician appointed by WindTre. After testing, the Customer can choose to use his own modem and in this case he will have to equip himself with a modem compatible with the profile of the offer chosen. The general parameters are present on page Other modem setup. In case of use of equipment freely chosen by the Customer on the free market, the internet speed could be different from that communicated and Wind Tre S.p.A. is not required to provide technical assistance on the installation and configuration of the modem and Wi-Fi, even for connected devices. Furthermore, no remote updates on the modem firmware will be sent. Wind Tre S.p.A. undertakes to provide free assistance only in the event of any problems on the Customer's line.
The una-tantum activation fee is of 120 euro can be paid with:
  • a single installment in the first invoice
  • 5€/month for 24 months If the
Clients terminates the contract before the payment of the last installment of the activation fee, the Client will have to pay, in a single installment or more fees with the same time gap and same payment method, for all the remaining fees.
You can make unlimited calls in Italy and towards the countries included in the solution.

You will always pay the same monthly fee regardless of the number and duration of the calls you made. The traffic included in the plans doesn’t cover special-rate calls and calls towards international numbers, except the calls towards fixed and mobile numbers in the European Union, Switzerland, USA and Canada.

VOUCHER CONNECTIVITY BUSINESSES
Wind Tre adheres to the Connectivity Voucher Plan promoted by the Ministry of Economic Development to encourage the spread of ultra-wideband in Italy, thanks to the provision of a bonus intended to contribute to the provision of connectivity. The voucher is intended for companies, registered in the relevant register, and also to all natural persons holding a VAT number who exercise, on their own or in associated form, an intellectual profession within the meaning of Article 2229 of the Civil Code (or one of the unorganised professions referred to in Law No. 4 of 14 January 2013) which have a maximum of 250 employees and an annual turnover that does not exceed € 50 million, against the request for activation of new connectivity services or improvement of connectivity already active. The speed activated must be the best speed available to the civic (both in case of upgrades and new access). The amount of the single voucher will vary from a minimum of € 300 to a maximum of € 2.500 depending on the type of connectivity. It will be possible to request only one voucher per VAT number. The disbursement of contributions is subject to the actual availability of the relevant funds and the approval of the application.
In case of contextual subscription of the Office Plus Special Fibre FTTH Offer the cost, thanks to the Connectivity Voucher of 500€ will be 14,16€ for 24 months (discount of 20,84€/month) and at the end of the 24 months will return to the initial price of 35€. If the Office Plus Special 200 Offer is subscribed to at the same time, the cost, thanks to the €300 Connectivity Voucher, will be €12.5 for 24 months (a discount of €12.5/month) and at the end of 24 months it will return to the initial price of €35. OFFICE PLUS SPECIAL and OFFICE PLUS The plan can be subscribed to a new line in FTTC and FTTH fiber connectivity where network coverage is available. OFFICE PLUS SPECIAL and OFFICE PLUS plans can be subscribed respectively for 1 line and 2 lines. In ADSL and FTTC connectivity only, OFFICEPLUS SPECIAL and OFFICE PLUS can also be subscribed out of network coverage. There is an activation fee of 120 euros that can be paid: 1) in a lump sum charged in the first invoice; 2) 5 euros per month for 24 months. In the event of withdrawal before 24 months have elapsed, the customer may choose to continue to enjoy the installment plan or pay the remaining installments in a single payment. All fees are billed bi-monthly and charged in arrears. An IAD (Integrated Access Device) is provided on loan for use, which in addition to the ADSL/VDSL interface, has ISDN interfaces and/or POTS interfaces. This equipment will be delivered, installed and configured directly at the customer's premises by a specialized WINDTRE technician or a partner company at no additional cost. In case of Fiber FTTH, the network architecture provides for a mandatory SFP module for the use of the fiber connection that is provided free of charge. The plans have a contractual duration of 24 months. In the event of termination of the service there is a one-off contribution equal to the minimum value between the value of the contract and the actual costs incurred by WINDTRE for the management of the practice, as specified in the Technical and Economic Annex of the contract. Where the migrated lines coincide with the main line, the request for portability to other operators of only some lines and/or only the additional numbering on the traditional voice line may entail, where the migrated lines coincide with the main line, the deactivation of all the remaining lines for which portability has not been requested, with consequent loss of the numbers and application of deactivation charges. Calls are unlimited unless the service is used contrary to the criteria of good faith and fairness, for purposes other than personal use or for the performance of mass communication activities in accordance with the provisions of the General Conditions of Contract for WINDTRE telecommunications services. OFFICEMAXI
The plan can be subscribed to on a new line in FTTC and Fibre FTTH connectivity where network coverage is available, starting from 3 lines up to a maximum of 8 lines per location. In ADSL and FTTC connectivity only, OFFICEMAXI can also be subscribed to outside network coverage. There is an activation fee of €120, which may be paid: 1) as a lump sum and charged on the first invoice; 2) €5 per month for 24 months. In the event of withdrawal before 24 months have elapsed, the customer may choose to continue with the instalment plan or pay the remaining instalments in a single instalment. The monthly fee for an additional line, after the first three lines, is 10 euros. All fees are billed bimonthly and charged in arrears. SECURE WEB
SECURE WEB is a service integrated into the WINDTRE network, capable of preventing the most common cyber threats such as "phishing", "botnets" and "ransomware". Features such as anti-phishing and malware containment will be integrated into the WINDTRE network, without the need for specific hardware or software installation on their devices. The SECURE WEB option is included by default within the fixed telephony services of the OFFICE portfolio at a cost of €5 per month for 12 months. There is no activation or deactivation fee. At the end of the 12th month, the service is automatically renewed, unless you contact 1928 to cancel. SECURE WEB is a cloud-based security service that operates at the DNS (Domain Name System) level and provides the first line of defence against Internet threats by blocking access requests to malicious destinations before the connection is established. The service verifies the reliability or security of the site you wish to access: if the access request is made to a destination deemed potentially dangerous by WINDTRE Business's SECURE WEB service, the customer will be denied access to that destination, replacing the requested content with a message (special blocking page) informing the customer that protection action has been taken. If you wish to request access to the blocked page or deactivate the SECURE WEB service, you must call 1928. WINDTRE does not guarantee that the SECURE WEB service provides absolute security and protection from cyber attacks (malware, phising) due to the continuous development of new technologies for intrusion and attack against files, networks, endpoints. WINDTRE does not guarantee that the SECURE WEB Cloud service will protect all files, networks and endpoints from all malware, viruses and malicious attacks from third parties, but the level and development of the technologies used contribute significantly to reducing the level of exposure to these threats. The monthly fee for the SECURE WEB option, exclusively in conjunction with the OFFICE PLUS SPECIAL Fibre FTTH, OFFICE PLUS Fibre FTTH and OFFICEMAXI Fibre FTTH tariff plans, is being promoted at a 100% discount for new activations. INTERNET CONTINUITY Internet Continuity is a solution that increases the reliability of the Internet connection by adding a secondary connection based on a 3G/4G mobile network to the fixed line. The secondary connection is automatically activated and deactivated in the event of temporary unavailability of the fixed connectivity. With Internet Continuity, it is possible to use the Internet even before the activation of ADSL and FIBRA up to 200 Mb/s. The customer can optionally request, in combination with the Office One product with D Link DVA 5592 modem, the provision of "Internet Continuity" at the promotional cost of 5 euros instead of 29 euros per month (if the data traffic included in the 30 giga internet tariff plan is carried out in the territorial area of activation of the fixed line), for 24 months which includes: - Internet Key D-Link DVM 222 sold for 24 months at a cost of €0/month; if the SIM is deactivated before 24 months, the amount of €36 will be charged on the last useful bill - Data SIM with INTERNET 30 GIGA tariff plan - Installation guide. Internet Continuity guarantees the provision of connectivity (no VoIP) in critical situations of the fixed data access infrastructure, and is based on the association of an INTERNET KEY USB 3G/4G to a fixed network access modem/router, equipped with a USB port capable of hosting the Internet KEY. If the offer is used outside the territorial area in which the fixed line is activated, Wind will notify the customer by SMS if the conditions for using the offer are not met. If the conditions of the offer are repeatedly violated, the cost of the offer will rise to €29 per month.
Conditions of use of the service and traffic limitations
As provided for in the General Conditions of Contract, which can be viewed in full in the Tariff Transparency section, WINDTRE reserves the right to suspend the service, in whole or in part, in the event of improper use or that exceeds the reasonable limits of use indicated in the General Conditions themselves.
The customer will be informed, with prior notice, of any suspension by a specific communication.
Such reference limits are:

 
  • For all offerings that include Voice and SMS
1. daily outgoing traffic per voice/SIM channel not exceeding 160 minutes and/or 200 SMS/MMS;
2. monthly outgoing traffic per voice/SIM channel not exceeding 1250 minutes and/or 2000 SMS/MMS;
3. daily/monthly outgoing traffic (minutes and/or SMS/MMS) per voice/SIM channel directed to other operators not exceeding 60% of total outgoing traffic and in any case not exceeding 50% of total vs. mobile traffic;
4. outgoing daily/monthly traffic (minutes and/or SMS/MMS) per voice/SIM channel directed to a single mobile operator other than Wind Tre S.p.A., no more than 40% of total outgoing traffic and in any case no more than 30% of total mobile traffic;
5. daily/monthly outgoing traffic (minutes and/or SMS/MMS) per voice/SIM channel directed to your own network of Wind Tre S.p.A. users is no more than 80% of total outgoing traffic;
6. daily outgoing or incoming traffic aimed at self-charging more than two hours of conversation and 50 SMS or MMS; monthly roaming traffic outside the EU (voice / data / SMS) is not more than 20% of total monthly traffic;
7. daily/monthly outgoing traffic for international calls not exceeding 20% of total outgoing traffic;
8. extra-EU roaming traffic in a number of days exceeding 31 (thirty-one) out of a total period of 60 consecutive days.
 
  • For all offers that include unlimited Voice or SMS
For plans, options or promotions that include unlimited voice and SMS/MMS traffic without thresholds of minutes or SMS/MMS, parameters 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 above do not apply and the use of the Service that complies with the following parameters is understood to be compliant (without prejudice to the absence of any automatism in the application of the precautions provided for their exceedance):
1. total daily outgoing voice or text message traffic to other operators not exceeding 60% of total outgoing voice or text message traffic;
2. the ratio of daily outgoing voice or text message traffic to other operators and incoming voice or text message traffic from other operators must not exceed 3 (three); without prejudice to the absence of any automatic mechanism for applying the precautions provided for in order to exceed this ratio.

For plans, options and/or promotions that provide for unlimited data traffic included, the use of the Service that complies with the following parameters is understood to be compliant (without prejudice to the absence of any automatic application of the precautions provided for their exceedance):
  • abnormal monthly traffic volumes at least 5 times higher than the average consumption of customers with homogeneous or similar offers;
